Mother’s day at Dacha.
Is there anything more pleasant, than to give flowers, to present surprises and to do gifts to beloved people? These pleasant employment is what visitors of "Dacha" have pleased themselves and relatives on the second Sunday of May. This day when everyone celebrates mother’s day, the whole families came to our restaurant to congratulate the most dear and beloveds - mothers on fresh air in joyful, sincere atmosphere, to give them flowers and gifts sometimes even made by own hands. Mother’s day is celebrated for already almost hundred years. This holiday has the old and interesting history connected with destiny of the American girl named Anna Jervis. She has remained without mother in early childhood. Among heavy, humiliating orphaned everyday life she bore an idea on that all people esteemed the woman - mother, mother -ground, and Mater Divine one day in a year. In 1914 Anna has addressed in the Congress of the USA with the application on creation of such day. It was accepted, and the Congress has approved a new state holiday - Day of Mother which has soon been legalized by a number of other countries, and in 1929 has been established and on Galichina under the initiative of the Union of the Ukrainian women. |
